thx g. i'm enjoying school so far tho it's really weird being perhaps the
oldest person in my history class lol i just need to learn how to manage
time wisely so i can fit everything in! hope you had a good weekend. :)
  • Mr_Knowitall · 3 months ago
Hi sweetie...Yeah, and I bet you are ruining the class curve, cause you are
    so much smarter,,,hehehehe

I'm up every day at 6. I don't wake the oldest up for school until 7:30. By then, if things go as planned and I don't spend all of the time on the internet...I'll have my daily cleaning done as well as the dishes. My internal alarm starts going off around 4:30(frustrating) and I'm still ready to get up around 6 on the weekends(I force myself to stay in bed, though this usually just gives me a headache when I actually do get up...)

I can't speak for all SAHD's but for me, yeah the internal thing is definitely a factor in my day.
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
i hate that internal clock on the weekends lol and i feel like a failure cos
i don't even remotely get close to what you get done. i'm a master
procrastinator and lazy to boot! lol
  • Hootin' Anni · 4 months ago
Sometimes, life gets in the way of fun!
    I think we all understand....
    No need to apologize.

My 55 is posted here. Have a super weekend. See you next week, I hope.
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago

In the past week, I have made it my goal to get ridiculously organized. I've been going through everything I own, making schedules and charts for the chilis of how our day is going to go. I made chore charts and colored everything on cute bright poster board. That way the chilis see it and there is no question of what we should and should not be doing. The chilis have taken to it like fishes to water--proudly doing their chores (and they've never had to do chores) We have had a happy, helpful, and organized household for over a week now and it's an amazing change. I think because we feel like we are all working together for a goal where as I've spent years feeling like it's me who has to do everything. It's been a big positive change!! :)

i always have good intentions and am usually off to a good start when i try
to get rid of stuff and organize everything, but i think my life is filled w
'good intentions' and not enough action lol i think if the family could
think as one, it might work out better haha glad that it's working out for
    you! :)
  • Dr John · 4 months ago
    I wish I was organized .
I love the way your 55 leads to the longer blog entry.
When my kids were little I let Betty get up. Hey! I needed the sleep.

    My 55 is posted

guys always seem to let the women get up lol but i do still believe it's a
whole maternal caregiver thing. tho sometimes that internal clock is a
nuisance lol time mgmt skills have long eluded me. i don't think i will ever
be organized. never have been in 43 yrs. *sigh* thanks for stopping by :)

Sometimes FUN gets in the way of life...I mean, "life IS blogging" right? --grin!

To become a better organizer of time and .....I just shut my eyes now and then, meditate a few minutes, and when I look up, somehow the piles of crapola on my desk just grew to greater proportions.

And time, I only wish there was such a phenomenon as "time bending". I even limit my sleeping to 4-5 hours and STILL not enough time--and I;m retired!!!!

So you came to the right person Ciara--as you now know. thanks for visiting my blog, girl.
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
honestly, if ppl could just see my desk. it's a great indicator to what i'm
like: a hot mess lol it's too embarrassing to even photograph. one time, i
kid you not, my crap was piled so high i could barely see the monitor (it's
a 19") :-/ lol yeah, i can totally see your good w the advice hehe thanks
for stopping by and take care :)
  • Lou · 4 months ago
I miss the days of little children, working full time, going to school, taking care of the house...NOT. But I do remember them, so no need to apoligize here!
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
i may complain about it a lot, but i think when my girls leave the nest i
will be even more of a mess than when my son did *sigh* now if i could just
have a magic wand to wave and instantly make house all clean & sparkly. ;0)
  • Anthony North · 4 months ago
Time can be a limiting thing. I know how it is.
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
i also hate how it just slips away as well. *sigh*
  • Akelamalu · 4 months ago
Honey there's absolutely no need to apologize - we'll be here whenever you put up a post. :)

Good for you with the studying - don't fret about it. x
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
thx ake-i feel like i'm not as good of a bloggy friend as i should be *sigh*
i keep hoping i'll get that time thing down lol
  • Fandango · 4 months ago
Learning is good. To get organized do yesterday's jobs first.
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
learning is indeed good. i sure have a lot of yesterdays to catch up on.
    crap.

Life gets in the way sometimes. It happens to all of us!!

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do!
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
life can be a pain in the arse lol but hey, i think if it didn't challenge
us in some way it wouldn't be living right? :)
  • Mama Zen · 4 months ago
    Fandango sounds like me!
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
now if i could just be a lil more like the two of you :)
  • oneprayergirl · 4 months ago
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my 55. After reading your 55, I'm doubly appreciative.

Don't worry - kids, school, work - I've been there and done that. Sometimes life requires prioritizing in different ways than at other times. Kids first at your children's ages.

Life changes and someday you will have more time than you need for blogging.

    Love and prayers,
    PG
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
thanks pg for your kind words. i think if i can just get my girls raised and
off to college here in a few years i've succeeded. :)
  • Boomer · 4 months ago
Great 55. And we all understand!

Such a good question....since the birth of our little one, and the subsequent every hour on the hour feedings, I wake up at 5:30am..EVERYDAY! for the last 3+ years now. AAAARGH! No reason, just do...weekdays, weekends, u name it...odd eh?
  • ciaraj · 4 months ago
u have that maternal internal clock, too, eh? hehe :) hey, i think that i'm
grateful that i can sleep in once in awhile cos 5:30am everyday would have
    me dragging!
  • SurprisedMom · 4 months ago
Hints for organizing? From me? I'm laughing my backside off.

I'm not a morning person, but have been functioning in the a.m. for quite some time. When the kids were in grade school, I had to drive them. When they were in hs I drove them to bus stops and trains. I was usually working, too.

When I was unemployed or underemployed, I drove kids and usually drove my husband downtown. Now I'm working again full time and I will drop the youngest off at her bus stop and the husband off at the train station. Then I will go to work.

Sleeping in is wonderful. Days off are wonderfu, even if my internal alarm wakes me. I know I can just sit in my chair, blog, read blogs, drink my coffee and just be.

I'm usually working six days out of seven now, so I really cherish my day off. And like you, I'm not around the blog world as much.

Good luck to both of us.
  • ciaraj · 3 months ago
i do read, blog, or whatever when i can, but i sure could use the sleep lol
most nights i don't go to sleep before 2am then i'm up early getting kids
off to school, going to school, blah blah blah. can't imagine if i worked,
too! but i'll just whine over here silently. anyone got cheese? lol
  • jadey73 · 4 months ago
    Hi Ciara,

Your 55 is awesome. Dreams are important to go after. I totally understand how busy you are and I look forward to your visit whenever you can make it. Congrats on going back to school.
  • ciaraj · 3 months ago
thx jadey-my ex never understood my desire to go back to school. it was part
of the reason we divorced...well that & the fact that he didn't want to have
to work 2 jobs while i went among other things lol but a college degree is
on my must-do list so what if i'll be 50 when i'm done lol thx for stopping
    by :)
  • Smallprint · 4 months ago
Hey - I am a poor time manager too - and have not yet received a multi-tasking upgrade!

The lure of procrastination is too great. As you say - you would think that the resultant stress would teach a lesson. But hey!
  • ciaraj · 3 months ago
i'm constantly stressed due to being queen of procrastination. but no, i
have yet to learn the lesson. tho i seem to be good at learning everything
    else lol
  • PJ Mullen · 4 months ago
I keep all appointments in my google calendar so I don't forget where I have to be and when and a to do list in google docs since it is online and can access anywhere I have access to the net. Granted, I only have one kid and he's little, but with everything I manage to get myself into project wise, I need it. Good luck with school!
  • ciaraj · 3 months ago
as much as i'm on the computer i don't think i would look at google calendar
often. i wonder why that is. i need a hard copy which i have, but i'm still
the most unorganized person in the world. my brain seems to be the only
thing semi-organized so maybe that's good??? lol thx for the luck & stopping
    by :)

thx dulce...it's a pleasure to meet you as well. hopefully i'll be able to
keep up w writing and reading 55s :) i love how many people have gotten
involved w it when i took a break for awhile & meeting all new bloggy
    friends :)
  • Thom · 4 months ago
Thank you for stopping by my playground. Much appreciated. Loved your 55. It was excellent. I don't think you need to apologize to anyone. School and family life always have to come first. As for a built in internal thing..I've got that and can wake up with out an alarm anytime. But I've always been a morning person so that's no biggie to me. It's just on my days off I wish I could sleep in just once. LOL. It's been to long since I've been in school so I don't have any tips for ya. Have a great week. Gonna be busy with school and the family :)
  • ciaraj · 3 months ago
thom-thx for stopping by as well. i love all the new bloggy friends i'm
meeting through the 55s. there are days where i don't wake up w the internal
alarm usually when i need to and then i wake up w the internal alarm when i
DON'T need to lol there is no winning lol hope your week is going well. :)
  • Erica · 3 months ago
It's like you wrote the 55 for me! I've been doing the same only I don't have a school excuse. :P
