I tried to do online grad school shortly after taking a new job. I handled it pretty well until we had a new baby in the house.

This may not be very responsible advice, but it was helpful when my wife gave it to me: Don't try to do everything perfect for school. It's OK to get a slightly worse grade on something if 'slacking off' buys you some time and energy for the things you value most.

Re: FF-57 and Fatherhood Friday #20

Congrats on going back to school! Thanks for reminding me that I'm a failure as a role model :)

Re: FF-57 and Fatherhood Friday #20

I agree with BellaDaddy. I know you'll get yourself organized eventually and in the meantime, just don't sweat the small stuff. (Of course, If you are like me, you'll do it anyway ;)) (((hugs)))

And wow...your 55 really hit home today.

--snow

Re: FF-57 and Fatherhood Friday #20

somtimes it IS that complicated!

Re: FF-57 and Fatherhood Friday #20

ugh, I hated school. I never read the assigned readings and kinda was just there. I passed just fine but never really cared. Best of luck in getting it all figured out. I'm sure you'll do just fine

Re: FF-57 and Fatherhood Friday #20

I can't imagine taking on the task of going to school, in addition to raising a family. I don't think there are enough hours in the day. Now that I'm working six out of seven days a week, I'm busy enough. There isn't enough time to write my blog, read my favorite bloggers and still do everything around the house that needs to be done.
BTW, I really liked your 55. How clever.

Re: FF-57 and Fatherhood Friday #20

Yes, so often it isn't about 'us'.
